Product Listing Guide
This guide explains how to add your products or books to PutForShare.com, why each item must be listed on its own, and how to capture good product images for your online listing.
List One Product or One Item Individually
Always add only one single product or book per listing.
- Listing every item separately makes it easy for customers to order exactly what they want.
- You must list each item separately. Do not combine multiple books into one listing.
- Do not add all your books in one single listing.
If it is a bundled package — for example, you bought the books as a book set — you can either:
- Add the complete set as one listing, or
- Sell the books individually.
The choice is yours, but never mix unrelated books into a single listing.
How to Add Products or Books at PutForShare.com
Adding books is very simple.
Step 1: Open PutForShare on Your Mobile
- Open PutForShare on your mobile device.
- Go to your main inventory.
Step 2: Scan the Product Barcode
- Choose to scan a product or scan a barcode.
- The barcode is located on the back of the book — use that.
- Once scanned, the book is added to your inventory.
Step 3: Fill in Any Missing Details
Most of the time the product is added automatically with all its data. Sometimes the scan may not return complete data.
When that happens, fill in whatever details you know, such as:
- Author
- Publisher
- Price
- Any other available product information
Accurate details help your listing appear correctly and reach the right buyers.
How to Capture an Image of a Book for Online Listing
A clean, well-lit photo makes your listing look professional and trustworthy.
Follow these guidelines:
- Clean the book first. Wipe the entire book with a clean cloth.
- Use the right format. A
jpgorjpegimage is recommended. - White background is mandatory. Place a white cloth or white paper on the table and take the photo against it.
- Light the product properly. Set up your light source so the light faces the product directly.
- Featured image. The featured image should be the front cover of the book.
Clear, bright photos on a clean white background help customers see exactly what they are buying and improve the chances of a sale.
